Tournament Rules

Draws
Sign-ups for 2 Events are accepted. For Doubles the strongest partner´s devision determines the placement.
The Gay German Open are santioned by the GLTA.
The rules and rankings from the GLTA and National
Associations have been used to determines player´s division.
The highest ranking determines the division.
GLTA results on Mai 01, 2009 and all other relevant information have been used in the Draw.
If a participant still plays in an appropriate division  (too low) he will be immediately be defaulted.
After seeding and draw subsitutes are only allowed when play has not yet started in that category.
In case of less than 5 sign-ups for 1 division categories may be comined or could be play in a round-robin system. The Tennis Rules from the International Tennis Federation apply.
GLTA rules are added to the ITF Rules. These rules are described in the text below.

Matches

Please report to the tounament desk half an hour prior to each match
All matches of Singles Main Draw will be the best 2 out of 3 sets, regular scoring with a 12-point-tiebreaker played at 6 games all in every set.
All doubles matches will be played with a match-tie-break till 10 points instead of a 3rd set.
All consolation matches will be played with a match-tie-break till 10 points instead of a 3rd set and NO-AD in every game.
Warm-up ties are limited to 5 minutes
ITF Code of Conduct is used
Please report the match results to the tournament desk immediately  after the match.
Between matches a 30-minute break is allowed after a singles match and a 15-minute break after a doubles match
Fieldofficials are present to check balls, warm-up times, rest periods and to be of assistance.

Late arrival

A Penalty for late  arrival, based on GLTA rules, will be incurred as of the announced start of your match.
It is the players responsibility to arrange transportation, get directions if necessary and leave in time to get to the site.
5 minutes or less means loss of toss and one game
5 to 10 minutes means loss of toss and two games
10 to 15 minutes means loss of toss and  three games
more than 15 minutes means default.

Balls  and Courts

All matches will be played with Dunlop Balls.
The balls will be used for a maximum of  3 matches
New balls will also be provided to each final
For singles always use the single posts

Consolation Rounds

Consolation matches will only be played after the first lost singles match
Please inform the tournament desk if you want to participate in the consolation rounds
Consolation rounds will be played with a match-tie-break till 10 points instead of a 3rd set and NO-AD in every game

Do´s and Dont´s

Always enter the courts through the appropriate entrance. Avoid disturbing other matches
Players shall not engage in unsporting conduct and/or disturb other players.
A player is not allowed to receive coaching during a match
Do not enlist the aid of sprectators in making line calls
Wait until players on another court have completed a point before retrieving or returning a ball

Unforseen Delays

Games will be shortened by using the suden death rule (no ad scoring) at 40-40; the receiver chooses the side he wants to receive the final service; this point is decisive for the game win
The 3rd (or 5th) set will be shortened to a Match-Tie-Break who lasts till 10 points (in contrary to a normal tiebreaker of 7 points)
sets will be shortened till 4 games (two games difference), tiebreaker at 4 games all.
The 3rd (or 5th) set will be shortened to a normal tie-breaker

Registration Fees

With the registration the participant have to pay the registration fee of 85,00 €. Fees must be receive NO later than 14 days after registration on our bank account: IBAN DE93301602130803890013, BIC/Swift Code GENODED1DNE, Volksbank Dusseldorf-Neuss eG.

Cancellation possible till April 01,2010 (if registration fees are paid 2,00 € administration fees will be charged).
After April 01,2010 No refund will be given.
