Oh my goodness... interfered with by a volcano!
Well, the current transport disruption across Europe means
that a number of players might not be able to attend the tournament.
Regardless, as the courts are booked and paid for the tournament will go ahead in some form.
It would be unfair to those who have made
plans, paid for transport and can travel to cancel the tournament.
Changes to draw formats may affect GLTA status.
Airlines and government agencies are currently in discussion about the safety
of flying. Weather patterns may change in the next two or three days, permitting travel.
The host hotel will accept cancellations up until 16.00 on the day of arrival.
Unfortunatly we
cannot, due to cost already incurred, refund registration fees.
It seems to make sense to wait until the last moment before canceling your plans to play in Dusseldorf.
As you can
imagine this is a terrible dissapointment to me. I hope the situation will resolve itself and we are able to meet in Dusseldorf.
